How do I lose weight from the back of my thighs?

I’m not overweight at all but for some reason, the back of my thighs (right below my butt) kind of have some cellulite. I’m self concious to wear my bathing suit without shorts and it sucks because its summer. Is there any exercises I can do to lose the cellulite just in that particular area?

In a word Pilates. See if your gym has any mat based classes. Pilates lengthens, strengthens & tones the body – without building bulk.

Using weights, squatting & the like will not give you slender thighs. These are load bearing exercises and will increase the bulk in your thighs. They may help you tone up but they won’t make you longer and leaner.

Combined with Pilates, just do power walking or jogging to burn any unwanted fat.

I have some great FREE Pilates exercises online. They are presented in video format, you can do them at your desk and they really do work!

go to a gym and use the machines that target ur hamstrings (back thighs) do high reps with light weight and don’t just work on that single bodypart do all you’re leg muscles (that way you lose weight faster) and then rest ur legs at least 2 days before lifting again (u can still jog, do yoga etc.) hope this helps.

whatever u do don’t do pilates. it is such a waste or time and it is meant probably for old people recovering from surgery. i would hit a gym and use machines for harmstrings. but if u have cellulite it aint’ gonna help u anyway – cellulite is skin condition, muscles re way under the skin. if u get cellulite u re done with it forever. swimming in high salted water helps a little. like Mediterranean sea

Squats are the way to go for amazingly toned legs. Grab a Swiss Ball and put this between your lower back and a big wall. Slowly ‘roll’ down as if you are going to sit on a chair that’s not that. You should feel it in the backs of your thighs!! Go back up.

Do 3 lots of 14 every other day.

Buy yourself two body brushes. Each day, working from knee to waist, brush upwards (always brush towards the heart), all round each leg. You can use just one brush but it’s quicker with two. This gets the circulation going and this helps to breakdown the dimples. If you buy a Body Brush, get one that fits in the palm of your hand and has a strap across the back (I’m in the UK and bought great ones from Boots chemist). Make sure the bristles are natural and medium firm – give a quick brush across your face to test. You want them to be firm but not so firm they draw blood!

I use BB’s and after a week there was a noticeable difference.

isnt it amazing?? I see women that are skinny that have this problem, i think its mostly genetic because some women dont even work out and dont have this cellulite. I have been lifting weights for 15 yrs, to me the best excercise for the back of the legs by far is the stiff legged deadlift. Grab a bar or dumbells and bend knees slightly, touch down as far as you can go, this will stretch the back of the legs better than any other excercise, lunges are good too but will hurt your knees. The other excersise to do is lying leg curls, ask someone in the gym to show you these. I would do both of these excercises for 4 sets of 15 twice a week. For cardio to lose this cellulite do the eliptical machine on a slight raise of the platform for 30 min’s twice a week on the days you dont lift weights. best of luck

Exercises alone won’t work, but if you do the following it will remove cellulite:

    Dry skin body brushing
    Basic leg exercises
Drinking plenty of water and herbal teas
    Basic leg exercises

See http://www.ridofcellulite.org which explains why this method works.
